People who have little or no teaching experience and want to
up date their skills. The duration of the course is only one
year.
Why Attend?
The purposes of the 7407 schemes are to provide a thorough
preparation for post – fourteen teaching and training.
This qualification will equip a wide range of teachers to
support learners The 7407 is nationally established as the
foremost qualification for teachers in post-compulsory
education and training.
Aims and Objectives of the Programme
Is to provide a route in three stages. It also provides a
body of knowledge, skills and understanding which may be used
to underpin portfolio building for NVQs in Training and
Development.
Contents
- Adopt an integrative approach to the theory and
practice of teaching and training.
- Reflect on their own experience, practice, skills and
potential for development built up knowledge of principles
of learning teaching and assessment and evaluation.
- Apply a range of method and techniques of teaching,
learning assessment and evaluation, exploring, such
innovative approaches as many be appropriate analyse their
own students’ abilities, potential and learning
needs.
- Develop their own communication and inter-personal
skills.
- Design organise and evaluate teaching and learning
programme.
- Adopt an innovative approach to collecting and using
wide range of teaching and learning resources, including
developing their own skills in the use of Information
Technology.
- Develop an awareness of their professional role, the
essential value system which underpin it and the legal
requirement for carrying out that role.

Practical and Theory based classroom assessment, Handouts,
Exercises and group discussion.
Assessment
City & Guilds external Exam and Portfolio Assessment.
After the Course..
Candidates who are successful on one or more units will get a
certificate of units Credit. Where appropriate a full NVQ
certificate is issued once they have completed all the units
necessary for a particular level.
