Course Summary
Airline Passenger Services Agents usually work at airports,
and sometimes at city air terminals on behalf of the
airlines. Also known as Passenger Service Assistants, they
deal with passenger enquiries about flight
departures/arrivals, and ensure that passengers and baggage
board the correct aircraft.
This course allows you to learn and understand the daily
operations and routines of an Airline Passenger Service
Agent. It allows the trainee to become more aware and
acknowledge that Airline Passenger Service Agents not only
check passengers in, allocate seat numbers, issue boarding
passes, luggage labels and assist passengers through
immigration/customs but also adhere to ensuring good
communications with Dispatchers, Flight Crew and Supervisors
so that flights depart on schedule.
Course Content
The course consists of the following six units:
- Research the Airport Industry and the Role of the
Airline Passenger Services Agent
- Understand Airport Knowledge required by the Airline
Passenger Services Agent
- Deal effectively with the processing of passengers by
the Airline Passenger Services Agent
- Identify the Importance of Pre-boarding Checks by the
Airline Passenger Services Agent
- Identify the Procedures for Decontrolling Passengers by
the Airline Passenger Services Agent
- Procedures involved in disembarkation by the Airline
Passenger Services Agent
Entry Requirements
- At least 18 years of age
- Educated to GCSE level C or National Equivalent
- Enjoy working with the public and meeting new
people
- Have strong written and spoken communication
skills
- Be polite and tactful
- Be a team player
